We enhance the well-being of our communities by training volunteers to teach English literacy to adults. We inspire volunteerism and create programs to help our students thrive as part of an engaged, committed, and robust citizenry.
LVSC programs assist adult students to overcome language and cultural barriers while accessing opportunities and resources in order that they can fully integrate and participate in the communities around them. They are better positioned to be economically empowered and socially agile, in turn, becoming fully realized and productive stakeholders in the society.
LVSC provides customized one-to-one and small group instruction in the areas of English as a Second Language (ESL), basic English literacy, and U.S citizenship preparation. Services are provided by a network of trained volunteers.
Our students who hail from diverse social and economic backgrounds have goals which are as individual and unique as our students themselves.
Our mission is to promote literacy throughout the community by providing student-centered tutoring and literacy programs for adults so that they may function more effectively in their daily lives.
Managing a large program on a small budget takes a dedicated and enthusiastic team of people with wide-ranging skills and talents.
